Extreme bleaching can dry out the hair faster and possibly cause for shedding. Now for my own personal units I like to bleach the heck out of them but I will never do that to units I sell :) No ma'am. It's only so much torture that human hair that is no longer attached to the scalp can take. :) 

Bleaching can be tricky when it comes to determining the processing times for the bleach to do its job. So to keep from destroying a unit it's best to practice on older units.

Alternative methods for this is to apply a little of foundation to the underside of the unit or spray some of the Sally Hansen Spray underneath the lace.
